Getting Results - And More - On The Move

Anyone who has a mobile phone with internet access (sometimes called 3g) can take advantage of a free, all-new service introduced by the makers of our website - leaguemanager.biz.

Most recent phones have 3g service, usually indicated by a "web" option on your menu. If you're not sure how to activate the service, or whether you've got it, check with your ISP or phone provider. If your phone is out of date remember that most pay monthly contracts include a free yearly upgrade option (at the expense of renewing your contract for another year).

How do I know if WAP and Mobile Internet are working on my phone?

View the Services menu (for Nokia phones) or Internet menu (for other phones) and open your operator's main page bookmark (e.g. Orange or Vodafone Live).

If you are on Vodafone and you can access the Vodafone Live service or if you are on T-Mobile and you can access t-zones, you are already setup.

If you cannot access any Internet pages, you are probably not subscribed to the 3g service or you do not have the correct setting on your phone. You can get your WAP and Internet working on your phone by contacting your network provider (see the URLS below) who will assist you in setting up the phone.

Setting-up the URL

Once you've got your internet page or menu up on your phone, type the URL - www.hsc.leaguemanager.biz/mobile - into the Go To or Address bar and add it to your Favourites or Bookmarks. You are now ready to bring up the County league's webpages on your mobile anytime you want.

Opening Menu

Once you have established a 3g connection you can bring up the opening menu on your mobile at any time.

Select Favourites or Bookmarks on your mobile and click the entry for your league.

The menu shown on the left should appear on your mobile's screen.

Use your navigator button or stick to highlight the menu item you want and then click it to move to the selected page.

Navigation, highlighting and clicking operations vary from mobile to mobile and a little bit of trial and error is probably required initially to get the hang of it.

One of the easiest ways to set up a bookmark or favourites entry is to get someone to text the URL - www.hsc.leaguemanager.biz/mobile - to your phone.

When you see the text has arrived, open it and highlight the URL. Then select Options and save it to bookmarks or favourites giving it a name you can easily recognise; "HSCL" say.

Then, whenever you want to see the league's results, fixtures or tables, click the bookmark or favourites entry. Saves a lot of thumbing!

Things You Can Do With The Internet on Your Mobile

Some of the features you can get from today's 3G technology include:

  • Download web content: The big selling point of 3G is the ability to download internet pages and other content to your handset - this can be sports snippets, music, news headlines, weather forecasts, movie trailers and more.
  • Video calls: Make and receive video calls to/from other 3G users. See who you're talking to as you speak to them.
  • Pictures: 3G phones can take still digital pictures as well as coping with video. You can send photos to other 3G users as well as to users with non-3G phones that use MMS. Data speeds are considerably faster than with a 2.5G MMS phone.
  • Location-based services: See a map of where you are and where to find nearest shops, banks, etc. Games: Download games up to 30 times faster than with standard GSM phones and play online games.
